Cranes on the Ceiling

This is so easy, there almost doesn't seem to be any point in writing about it, but I thought as this is my first tutorial I should keep things simple.

You will need:
Thread (preferably white), scissors and a needle (as long as possible),

2 things on your ceiling to attach stuff to (I used my light and this weird hook thing I used to have a swinging chair hanging from), and

Origami cranes! (as many as you like)

A ladder is also probably useful, although if you're really tall or good at jumping you could probably do without...

I simply got a long piece of thread, tied it to my light fitting and the weird hook thing on my ceiling then cut a load of smaller pieces of thread and sewed one to the top body bit of each crane. Finally, I tied each one to the bit of thread between the hook and light, trying to at least vaguely evenly space them.

Simples *Terrible meercat impression*

It took me about an hour and a half, but that was working slowly with regular breaks to dance like a crazy person when a song I like came on...

Also, if any of you have ideas for crane-related crafts, please feel free to make suggestions - I have 171 to do stuff with!

General greeting, introductions etc

So, um, hi!

This is the first post of my third ever blog, (my first two attempts failed) but I did my last GCSE exam today so seeing as my summer holidays are 11 weeks long this year, I'm hopefully going to have time to do a load of awesome stuff well worth blogging about!

Unfortunately, as I've only had a few hours of freedom, I haven't as such had time to do anything awesome yet, so here are some facts about me, just to whet your appetite and (hopefully) make you think 'huh, this girl is worth reading about! I'll save her blog so when the awesomeness starts, I can hear about it!'

1.) I am an avid player of Discworld MUD (My online name is Aaliyah, so if any of you play, feel free to come and say hi.)
2.) I make an origami crane every day then post it on facebook, in a search for mystical good luck.
3.) I have an older brother and a younger sister, Benjamin and Lottie, who will undoubtedly feature in these posts reasonably regularly.
4.) I am a slightly stereotypical nerd - I correct people's grammar, love maths and spend a worrying amount of time on youtube.
5.) I'm kind of like those people who have money owing on a load of credit cards, but with library cards and late fines.
6.) I can recite Pi to 30-something decimal places.
7.) I love making stuff, although I'm not that good at it... but a reasonable amount of this blog will probably be stories about various things I've made.
8.) I really like talking about myself... not in a big-headed oh-I'm-the-most-wonderful-thing-ever way, just 'cause it seems like that's probably the subjct I know most about.
9.) I get very easily cold, which led to me starting to wear slippers all year round, which led to the name of this blog.
